Treatment of Shoulder Replacement
Minimally Invasive Surgery
It is performed by inserting special instruments and an arthroscope through small incisions in the shoulder. Once the surgery is done, the incisions are threaded via surgical tools.
Mini-open Surgery
It combines minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques with a smaller open procedure. The incision is one to two inches long which may allow the surgeon to make more extensive repairs than possible with minimally invasive surgery.
Open Surgery
This can be done through small incisions of just a few inches. This surgery is necessary in some cases and may be associated with better results than arthroscopy.
