Dr. Z. S. Meharwal

Dr. Z.S. Meharwal is a renowned cardiac surgeon having 27 years of experience in cardiac surgery. He has performed over 30,000 surgeries, including complex heart operations and Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD). He is a pioneer in many new cardiac operations in India.

Dr. Meharwal is the Programme Director of DNB Cardiothoracic Surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. He has trained many cardiac surgeons in India and abroad who are now independent cardiac surgeons at different centers.

He has also been invited to several national and international meetings as faculty and has more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals to his credit. He is among a few cardiac surgeons performing heart transplantation and ventricular assist device implantation.
