Treatment of Sleeve Gastrectomy
Step 1
The patient is given general anesthesia.
Step 2
A small incision is made in the abdomen to insert the laparoscope.

The surgeon removes three-quarters of the stomach along the outside curvature, leaving a banana-shaped small pouch of the stomach.
Step 4
Remaining portions of the stomach are joined together using surgical staples.
Step 5
The incisions are closed with stitches and staples.
